Ava had a chance to play with Brenna recently, she is 2 weeks older than Ava! They were too cute, playing with the same toys and even talking to each other in baby talk. Ava tried to climb up Brenna a few times, and grabbed her hair once…so we had to referee a little bit. Still, a great friendship in the making! Dad is also a great playmate, crazy guy that he is!

In a recent news report Columbus ranked in the top three cloudiest cities in the USA. Guess the other top two cities? Our hometown favorites…Seattle and Portland. Dave loves the cloudy weather, but I love the sunshine. The winter here is very bleak and depressing. It doesn’t become light until about 7:30am, it gets dark by 5:00, and it remains cloudy in between those hours, so about this time of year you have completely forgotten what sunshine feels like. When it finally makes a new appearance I feel almost as thought my spirit has lifted, my entire mood changes. This weekend was VERY cold, but at least the sun made an appearance. Ava and I sat by the window and named all the things we could see outside…including the bright sun.

Ava is loving to try new foods, including pancakes this morning. Yum! She had a few pieces on her own and then when I was holding her she decided that the syrup on my plate was even better! We haven’t really given her anything sugary, so it was funny to watch her reaction to the syrup! Oh, to try sugar for the first time….
