Olivia smiles!

There really is nothing like the first time they start to smile. You have offered up your sore boobs every 3 hours for a month, you actually dream about sleeping longer than 2 hours at a stretch, you find yourself doing the baby sway/rock even when not holding an infant (like in the middle of the grocery store aisle when contemplating what kind of pasta sauce you need), and just when you think that your baby couldn’t care less who was holding it as long as they had nipples…there it is. A beautiful, toothless grin aimed right at you! And suddenly, three hours of sleep doesn’t seem so bad! Gotta love that.

Balloon Glow.

The evening balloon glow was lots of fun! And since we live right across the street, it was easy to get over there. Living near NASA is really cool (the festival was held at the fields of NASA)! When we went to the festival, we had a mini tour of NASA and they showed us the buildings where there is a life size mock up of the space station and the space shuttle, where all the astronauts train and run through simulations. Perhaps I can get a job there studying biology in the context of Mars, or something…? How cool would that be? :-)

Balloon Festival.

The Nassau Bay Ballunar festival was this weekend. The hot air balloons flew right over our place in the morning. Ava and I watched them land across the street.
