Happy half-birthday Livi-lu.

Can you believe little Olivia is now six months old? I am embarrassed to report that she has suffered the terrible fate of being a second child. We are so much more relaxed this time around. Milestones, huh, what???? I try really hard to take just as many pictures and document every spittle and dribble in her baby book. But really, it is nice the second time around because I find myself not worrying as much and just enjoying the ride a little bit more. OK, maybe I still worry as much…but in a much more controlled and logical way. And little Livi is a gem. She has mastered sitting up and is trying to crawl. She gets frustrated and rolls onto her back where she can scoot herself across the room in a modified-baby-backstroke. Dinnertime is easy with her. She loves all the veggies and fruits we have tried so far, including kale and spinach. Naps and sleeping are not as smooth, but we’re getting there. She is already very vocal and “dadadada” are the words on the day (along with screaming, which Ava has picked up on). She has a very easy-going personality, loves to laugh, and is already a social butterfly. It is a joy to watch her grow and to see her and Ava develop a relationship. They seem to complement each other in such a nice way, except for when Ava throws her books and boomerangs Olivia across the bridge of her nose (see above pictures for evidence). Happy half-birthday Livi!

A little bedtime reading.

Ava has always loved her books. Punishment for her is no books at naptime or bedtime. And, most afternoons this is the scene when I open the door to check on her from nap.
