8 months and cruising.
Jun 6th
Olivia has hit 8 months and she is cruising…literally. She pulls up on everything and walks around things such as the coffee table and the fireplace. She is also going through separation anxiety and cries whenever you leave the room. The past few nights she wakes up constantly and just wants you to come into the room and hold her. As soon as you set her down in bed, her eyes pop open and she starts crying. Guess it’s time for the Weissbluth technique. Time to get out the earplugs.
Worms, bugs, and spiders.

Remember the baby birds outside our window. I won’t tell you the whole story…but sad to say, our neighborhood cat found them. Mama bird has not forgotten either, she dive-bombs him whenever he struts down the street. However, we have a new resident outside the window. Mr. Crazy-zig-zag-web-Spider. (And just in case you were wondering, the crazy zig-zag is apparently to warn birds so they don’t fly into the web, thanks wikipedia). Anywhoo…we love watching him eat bugs that we toss into the web. Fun abounds here at the Sasser house! We have also delved into the world of worm composting. We ordered 2000 worms from Uncle Jim’s worm farm, built our own special worm farm bin, and loaded them in. Ava wanted to hold them all and keep them as pets in her bed where they could “sleep with her and listen to stories”. We convinced her they would prefer that she stick to visiting hours at the worm farm.
Party with Grandma and Grandpa Sasser.

After Helen and Michael’s last visit, they sent a photo of them with the kids that was outlined with balloons. Ava saw it and announced, “Oh, Grandma and Grandpa Sasser are inviting me to their party.” And being grandparents, they were not to disappoint. Plans were made to have a party next time they came. Sure enough, Ava held onto this idea for several months and when they arrived…party we did!
Bad blogger, bad, bad blogger.

OK, it’s been awhile. Things have been crazy! Work is heating up, we’ve had company for a week, Dave and I had a little get-away (by get-away I mean kid free, sleeping-in, staying-up-late, tequila drinking, dancing on the bar…Ok, maybe not the last one, but did I mention kid-free?) and we are now getting back to normal. I have lots to share, so to start it off…here is the continuation of our backyard garden project. Stay tuned for updates.
