Raising the most beautiful girls in the world…
Last 12 days.
Well, I am doing pretty well keeping up with the photo per day. It’s not always the best photo… and I am NOT doing a good job posting them here. But, I’ll take what I can get and at least they are captured and in my photo organizing system (iphoto) waiting to be put into my album.
It’s been fun to try and remember to snap one here and there throughout my days. I’ve already captured some things that I would usually notice but never take a pictures of. So, that has been fun.
For Dave’s birthday I took all three girls down to my parent’s farm for the day so he could have some quiet time playing video games, reading the paper, and doing as he pleased. I think he was happy with this. We had a blast at Grandmas, including a puppet show by Ava and Grandma.
Of course, the next day we celebrated as a family and had cake that the girls and I made for Dave. His request… red velvet???? Huh? I just can’t eat red velvet cake without thinking of the movie “Steel Magnolias” where the groom’s cake is a red velvet armadillo. If I was any good at cake making, I would have made him a red velvet armadillo. Maybe next year.
These two are pretty tight. He is an interesting cat. He knows when she is coming home from school and waits for her on the porch, just like a dog might. They hang out for a bit and then he heads off to do his thing. At night, he usually snuggles with her for awhile and then heads outside. They are a good mix of independence and interdependence. I think he was made to be her cat.
The first nice day we have had in awhile. We all enjoyed being back outside, even Oliver.
Park day, park day, we love park days!
Our peas seemed to have survived the arctic blast that swept Texas for awhile. They are taking off again after a little down time.
Playing her all-time favorite game… “I’m a ____ (insert favorite animal of the day) climbing in a tree. Can you be the Momma _____ (insert favorite animal of the day). ” She is very into animals still. One of the funniest offshoots of this, is that she references people as the species that we are. As in…
“Look Mom, that human is just sitting in his car.”
“You mean that guy?”
“Yeah, that human in his car.”
or… when we walk into Target and see a giant life size ad of all their employees:
“Look, Mom. Isn’t that a funny picture of all those humans standing together in Target shirts?”
“You mean, that picture of all the people that work at Target?”
“Yeah, that picture sure makes those humans look funny.”
“Yes, funny humans… “

I was just catching up with your blog. Not only have a NOT been keeping up with our blog, I haven’t been keeping up with friends’ blogs either. I love this picture of Ava and Oliver. It sounds like they are definitely a good match.
All three girls are getting to be so grown up. Really, we have to find a way to keep them little just a while longer!!!
