Nature walk.
Jan 2nd
We have a nature preserve near our house, right next to the Lake. They are only open on Fridays and Saturdays, so we headed out with Helen and Michael to check it out one Saturday morning. Of course, it had rained for several days earlier, so our shoes (and clothes) were CAKED with mud. But, we saw lots of different types of birds and found lots of evidence of the last meals eaten.
Museum Day.
Jan 2nd
Helen and Michael visited us over the Thanksgiving holiday. We had a great time. We spent a lot of time hanging out, chasing the kids, and visiting cools places around town. One of our favorites is the Natural History Museum. They have a great dinosaur exhibit and nice rotating exhibits (this month included an awesome one on the real world of pirates). But, our favorite standing exhibit is the Butterfly park which includes a great kids space all about insects and then a walk through biodome space where thousands of butterflies float.
